The Journey of a Certified Career Coach
My passion for helping women with an international background find their dream job began in 2011, sparked by a negative experience during an interview for an HR internship. After glancing at my resume, the interviewer looked at me and said, “How did you manage to get all of this education and work experience abroad?” I should mention that my resume proudly highlighted my international achievements, including a master’s degree in HR and professional experience with two UN agencies in Geneva, Switzerland. I had every reason to feel confident about my qualifications, yet I was confronted with a bias that questioned my capabilities simply because of how I looked.
It was a devastating and defeating experience AND that moment was a turning point for me. It inspired me to champion the value and potential of every woman out there like me, with an international background. Fueled by this experience, I became determined to find a way to support women who might face similar unfair recruitment experiences wherever they might be.
